  • Spend more time with yourself: When you spend more time with yourself and understand yourself on a level that no one else can, you will begin to enjoy your own company and when you are comfortable in your skin, you are happier and can deal with things better.
  • Know what you love and do it: Most of the time, we postpone our own happiness and decide that the time is not right to do those things that we love that add to our happiness. Life is short and so we should live it to the fullest. Stop postponing your happiness and act right now.
  • Forgive easily: When you forgive easily, it is not necessarily for others but also for yourself. You are removing all that weight of unhappiness and you are letting go of burdens of harboring a grudge and so you have a lesser load to carry and you are happier. So let go of those offenses and forgive the offenders.
  • Laugh more often: Laughter is good medicine for the soul. Take a joke every now and then and don’t hesitate to laugh anytime that you have the opportunity to do so. You can also put on your favorite comedy show and laugh your heart out.
  • Smile to strangers: You receive whatever you put out there. When you smile to strangers, you are distributing sunshine, love and light and it will come back to you. And who knows, that stranger may have been going through a lot and needed that smile.
  • Be open to change: Change should not be something that you should resist but you should embrace it and be flexible to change. You are happier when you are able to adapt to change versus when you are always resistant to it.
  • Take a walk: Taking a walk especially through nature can be helpful to calm your nerves especially when you have had a stressful day. When you walk alone, in a relaxed way, you are alone with your thoughts and you can see them from a newer perspective. Some people take long car rides to relieve their stress.
  • Practice gratitude: When we are grateful for what we have, we make yourself open to receive even more. Be grateful for all that you have and you will have even more made available to you. Count your blessings and be thankful for them because you are putting yourself in a position to receive more.
  • Take a joke: Take a joke, it is really as simple as that because life is short; too short to be taken too seriously. Laugh at jokes, you do not have to be so serious all the time. Find the humor in every situation.
  • Live your best life everyday: You do not need to wait for that special day or a particular person before you can wear your favorite clothes or do your favorite thing. Live your life everyday as though you would die the next day. This keeps you at the moment and you are happier when you focus on one day at a time.
