Ever heard the phrase, “A pack of wolves”? This is because wolves always run in packs; It is difficult to see a lone wolf.
This is because when they are together, they hunt better and get more game. They are better protected when they are in packs as compared to when they go one by one. This unity makes them even more powerful and threatening to a potential enemy.
The lesson from the pack of wolves signifies:
1. Strength in unity: Imagine these wolves competing against one another rather than joining forces , they would be easily defeated by their enemies. Members of a pack usually form loyal social bonds with each other. This is why they are able to thrive in a variety of different, difficult climates.
This lesson can be applied in business and in relationships. When we decide to collaborate rather than compete against each other, together we benefit more.
2. We need others to survive: Man is a social animal. No man is an island. No one man can exist alone without communication with others. It is a natural instinct to reach out to others. Food, shelter and warmth; these things we cohabitate to get from each other. A man that lives with others in a social setting often lives longer than one that stays alone. We need one another for one thing or the other.
3. Wolves start by locating prey: This signifies strategy, they occupy and dominate a specific area of land, “territory”. They hunt in packs to increase their chances of success at locating their prey. We can apply this lesson by always planning and strategizing before we decide to make any move. This would increase our chances of success at that particular venture
Remember, nothing ventured, nothing gained!
